Philadelphia! I arrived...

In late June of 2008 I accepted the Director of Disaster position for the American Red Cross of Southeast Pennsylvania - Philadelphia.

While I had to say good bye to great friends and co-workers in Louisville - I made the decisions in hope of both career enhancement and personal growth.

This past weekend, August 16th, my good friend Ryan
arrived in Philadelphia and help me move some of my things into a new apartment.  Its quite different here.  In Louisville I owned a home and had a yard; however, that is not the case here.  I pay double for an apartment here and I don't even have a yard!  What I do have is probably one of the best views the city has to offer at night.  Here is a picture of the roof top area this new apartment has to offer.  What a great view!

My apartment is on the 19th floor of a building called
the Metropolitan.  When first built, the Metropolitan was a luxury hotel; however, the Great Depression set in and the hotel soon closed its doors.  It was converted into apartments in the 80s and have been occupied ever since.  (From left to right: Skyy enjoying her new feeding area, the living room/dining room, view from the kitchen window, view from the bedroom window)
